Prof. Sili Zhou
Recently, Prof. Sili Zhou, Asian Economics team member of APAEM and Associate Professor of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Macau (UM), was invited to be a visiting researcher at the Bank of Finland Institute for Emerging Economies (BOFIT) and conducted research work in Helsinki, Finland, for about a month. The BOFIT Visiting Researchers Programme has a prominent role in BOFIT research activities, and the selection process is rigorous with only about twenty candidates received invitations in 2024.
During the visit, Prof. Zhou delivered a BOFIT lecture entitled “China’s Increasing Global Financial Impact”, which provided insights into how China’s pivotal role in world markets for commodities, goods, and services affects the global equity markets. In addition, Prof. Zhou also participated in the BOFIT Villa Workshop and attended the “2024 RiskLab/BoF/ESRB Conference on AI and Systemic Risk Analytics”, jointly organized by the RiskLab at Arcada, the Bank of Finland (BoF), and the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB). At these events, Prof. Zhou had in-depth exchanges and discussions with different financial practitioners, regulators, and researchers.
