Ms. Lai-Chong Au shared her extensive experience and insights in the banking industry

On October 3, 2025, the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS) at the University of Macau (UM) invited Ms. Lai-Chong Au, Group Chief Executive Officer of Delta Asia Financial Group, to deliver a special lecture for students. The lecture was hosted by Prof. Sam Ieng Man Ng, Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and a member of APAEM’s Macao Economy Team.

This seminar provided students with a unique opportunity to connect the theoretical concepts of money and banking with real-world practices. By inviting Ms. Lai-Chong Au, Group Chief Executive Officer of Delta Asia Financial Group, to share her extensive experience and insights, the session seeks to deepen students’ understanding of the banking industry, financial innovation, and leadership in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. Through the discussion and Q&A, students gained practical perspectives on challenges and opportunities in the banking sector, particularly in Macao and the Greater Bay Area, and received valuable career advice as they prepare to enter the financial industry.

Ms. Lai-Chong Au is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Delta Asia Financial Group and serves on its board of directors. Since 2016, she has been leading the group’s strategic planning, management, and stakeholder communication. With over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, she has previously worked in wealth management and securities brokerage in Hong Kong and served at Hamon Investment Group. Ms. Lai-Chong Au is passionate about social responsibility investment and social entrepreneurship. She is one of the Founder of Second Stage. Additionally, she currently is an Executive Committee Members of Golden Age Foundation and is a regular columnist at AM730. Ms. Lai-Chong Au was graduated from King’s College London, UK in BSc Clinical Sciences.
