In the interview with Macao Magazine, Prof. Alfred Seng Fat WONG talked about how Macau should develop its smart city infrastructure, especially stressing the importance of such toward Macao’s smart city development. In order to do well in this regard, it is critical to plan and execute a forward-looking infrastructure!
The article also mentioned that electronic payment platforms and online shopping have exponential growth during the pandemic, for example, the food delivery industry having full sprung up. In contrast, some small and medium-sized enterprises, especially traditional industries, have been reluctant to invest and maintain such information technology equipment and applications in the past.
However, they have seen convenience and more business opportunities driven by the government issued e-consumption credits in the past two years, which has twisted their conventional way of thinking. That moves a big step forward.
