Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research

Recently, the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research has achieved its first ranking of 24/139 among the top 25% (SSCI Q1) of the international academic journals in the field of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism in the JCR journal ranking 2024 by Clarivate Analytics. Prof. Rob Law, Deputy Director of APAEM, serves as the managing editor of the journal. This honor recognizes the outstanding contribution of the dedicated editorial team in developing the journal since its launch.

The Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research has been continuously growing in the rankings in recent years, and its influence has gradually expanded and gained wide recognition, with the latest impact factor of 4.3 and the impact factor without self-citation of 3.8. In addition, the annual academic journal impact ranking recently published by Google Scholar also showed that the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research entered the top 20 journals in the Tourism & Hospitality category. According to the statistics, the h5-index and h5-median of the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research are 48 and 69, respectively, indicating that 48 articles published in 2019-2023 have been cited at least 48 times each. Among these 48 articles, the median number of citations is 69.

The Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research, established in 1996, is an international academic journal focusing on tourism, aiming to promote the development of tourism knowledge in the Asia Pacific region, enhance tourism education, research, and professionalism by publishing articles based on empirical and theoretical foundations.

Besides being the managing editor of the journal, Prof. Rob Law is also the UMDF Chair Professor of Smart Tourism and project leader of the APAEM Smart Tourism Team. Currently, members of the APAEM Smart Tourism Team serve as editors or editorial board members in more than 70% of Q1 journals in the Tourism & Hospitality category, which proves the extraordinary strength of the team.
