Dr. Lau and Prof. Law discuss the integration of hospitality academia and practice
On August 24th, Dr. Arthur Lau, Adjunct Professor (in practice) of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Economics and Management (APAEM) at the University of Macau (UM), visited the academy and was warmly received by Prof. Rob Law, APAEM Deputy Director.
Dr. Lau has extensive experience in hospitality management and has managed hotels of different types and scales, including mega hotel, resort hotel, city hotel, and convention hotel. Additionally, he holds a doctorate in Hotel and Tourism Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His primary research interests include hospitality technology and convention services.
During the visit, Prof. Law and Dr. Lau had in-depth discussions on academic research and practical applications of information technology in hospitality. They also explored the potential industry-academia collaborations with APAEM, and looked forward to strengthening the ties between APAEM and the industry in order to bridge the gaps between academics and practitioners.
