Prof. Tu delivers a keynote speech in the International Conference on Legislation and Regional Synergetic Development
Recently, Prof. Guangjian Tu, Professor of the Faculty of Law at UM and member of the APAEM Financial Innovation Team, was invited to participate in multiple international conferences and lectures, showcasing his professional influence in the field of international private law. He attended the 12th KOPILA-CSPIL Joint Symposium, organized by the Korea Private International Law Association (KOPILA) and the China Society of Private International Law (CSPIL), as well as the International Conference on Legislation and Regional Synergetic Development, co-hosted by the Legislative Research Association of the China Law Society and Sun Yat-sen University, where he delivered keynote speeches.
In addition, Prof. Tu conducted lectures titled “The Doctrine of Public Policy in Chinese Inter-Regional Conflict of Laws” at Hangzhou Normal University and Hunan Normal University. In these lectures, he provided an in-depth exploration of the legislation and judicial practices related to the doctrine of public policy in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao.
Prof. Tu was also invited to comment at the Renmin University of China Law School’s seminars titled “Competition and Coordination of International Jurisdictions: New Progress in the Negotiation of the Hague Jurisdiction Convention” and “From Courts to Arbitral Tribunals: Changes in the Regime of Interim Measures in Arbitration and the Trade-offs in China.” In addition, he participated in the Conference on “Private International Law and Sustainable Development in Asia,” held at Wuhan University, where he delivered a speech on related topics within the framework of international private law.
Furthermore, Prof. Tu was invited to participate in the 3rd Asian Private International Law Academy Conference, hosted by Doshisha University in Japan and organized by Thammasat University in Thailand. He has also been nominated by the CSPIL to attend the 50th session of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law’s Working Group III, scheduled to be held in Vienna from January 20 to 24, 2025.
