
The project launch demonstration meeting for the key project “Research on the International Communication of Beijing’s City Image Based on Concept Maps”

On January 16, 2025, the project launch demonstration meeting for the key project “Research on the International Communication of Beijing’s City Image Based on Concept Maps,” supported by the Beijing Social Science Fund Planning Project, was successfully held at Beihang University (BUAA). This project, co-researched by Professor Rob Law, Deputy Director of APAEM at the University of Macau (UM), aims to enhance the international communication of Beijing’s city image through the use of concept maps.
The demonstration meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, combining online and offline participation. Notable attendees included Professor Xiaoying Dong from Peking University, Professors Taohua Ouyang and Suling Jia from BUAA, Professor Li Yu from Renmin University of China, and Professor Nao Li from Beijing Technology and Business University.
The project team members included Professor Rob Law from UM, Associate Professors Chunan Wang, Zhuang Hao, and Ning Liu from BUAA, Assistant Professor Rui Wang from China University of Petroleum (Beijing), and doctoral students from BUAA. The meeting was chaired by the project leader, Professor Jinxing Hao from BUAA.
During the opening report session, the project team members provided a detailed presentation on the project’s background and rationale, overall design and sub-project content, innovations and research foundation, progress schedule, and expected outcomes. After listening to the report, the attending experts conducted a comprehensive and detailed review of the project’s topic selection basis, content logic, research paradigm, and completion standards, offering targeted opinions and suggestions. The experts unanimously agreed that the project has a novel topic, scientific research methods, and high academic and practical value. They also recommended that the project team further refine the research content in subsequent studies to ensure the project’s smooth progress and high-quality completion.
The successful holding of this demonstration meeting laid a solid foundation for the smooth development of the project. The project team stated that they would further improve the research plan based on the experts’ opinions and suggestions, striving to achieve fruitful research results and contribute to the international communication of Beijing’s city image.
