In a recent interview with TDM, Prof. Alfred Wong expressed his view on “Master Plan of Guangdong-Macao Intensive Cooperation Zone in Hengqin”. Prof. Wong shared that the “Master Plan” can make up for the shortage of Macao’s land and create a new platform for promoting Macao’s economic diversification.
In addition, in terms of attracting and retaining top talents, the SAR government can formulate a plan according to the blueprint of “Master Plan”, imitate the preferential welfare policies of other neighboring Greater Bay Area regions, and attract skilled talents back to Macao to develop diversified industries. In such way, it can help recruit talents to return to Macao and develop diversified industries and promote Macao’s economic diversification.
