From October 25 to 27, Prof. Rob Law, Scholar of the University of Macau (UM) and Deputy Director of APAEM, was invited to Hainan University for academic exchanges to further expand the academy’s academic network.
In Haikou, Prof. Law and his delegation visited the College of International Tourism and Public Administration and the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College (HAITC) at Hainan University, where they received a warm welcome from Prof. Yanqing Xu, Executive Dean of the College of International Tourism and Public Administration, and Prof. Fang Zhang, Assistant Dean of HAITC.
Prof. Law engaged in extensive discussions with Prof. Xu on academic research collaboration and personnel exchanges. Both parties look forward to strengthening knowledge exchange and cooperation in the future. Additionally, Prof. Law met with Prof. Zhang and several faculty representatives to explore research topics related to international tourism.
Subsequently, Prof. Law delivered two presentations at Hainan University on the themes of “Publishing in Top Research Journals and Mistakes in Academic Writing” and “Academic Impact: What Makes an Article Citable?”. The seminars attracted a large audience of faculty members and students. In the seminars, Prof. Law shared advice on how to enhance the quality and impact of articles by understanding the characteristics of highly cited papers and highlighted common mistakes in research paper publishing and academic writing, providing valuable insights and guidance to the students. During the Q&A session, Prof. Law actively interacted with the audience, and many students expressed that his suggestions were highly enlightening for their future academic endeavors. Furthermore, Prof. Law participated in a panel discussion with the research team of Prof. Tao Hu from the College of International Tourism and Public Administration, and shared valuable experiences and suggestions in research, further promoting academic exchange.
