Recently, Prof. Rob Law, Scholar of the University of Macau (UM) and Deputy Director of APAEM, was invited to deliver an online speech at the V CETT Smart Tourism Congress Barcelona 2024, exploring the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of smart tourism.
In his speech, Prof. Law outlined two main streams of AI applications in tourism and hospitality: service agents (such as service robots and chatbots) and methodological tools (such as tourism demand forecasting and customer satisfaction analysis). Additionally, he discussed a range of issues in smart tourism, including AI-generated content and services, virtual influencers, and social isolation.
The V CETT Smart Tourism Congress Barcelona 2024 is organized by the CETT Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy at the University of Barcelona, with the theme “When AI Meets Tourism.” The conference aims to connect global experts, scholars, and researchers to share knowledge and practical solutions, delve into the development of smart tourism, build synergies, draw the future of smart tourism from multiple perspectives, and promote the reactivation of the tourism sector with innovative, smart, and sustainable strategies.
