On 22 Apr, 2022, the seminar on economics “Seminar on official statistics with higher education institute” was co-hosted by the Faculty of Social Science, Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) and Macao Monetary Authority (AMCM) at University of Macao. APAEM Scholar and Assistant Professor of Department of Economics, Prof. Fung Kwan, moderated the seminar. The representatives of DSEC and AMCM were invited to be the guest speakers.
The guest speakers firstly introduced the principles and methods how DSEC conducts official statistics in Macao. Then the duties and governance of DSEC and AMCM were also shared. In detail, guest speakers gave example about how Macao’s GDP is calculated and what implications the GDP could draw. At the end of the seminar, students were welcome to raise questions and exchanged ideas with the guest speakers.
