The Risk Quotient Conference 2024

On 29 February, Prof. Fangyuan Chen, Associate Professor in Marketing of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) of UM and member of the APAEM Smart Tourism Team, participated in the Risk Quotient 2024 Conference. She delivered a presentation titled “Motivating Consumers in Disease Detection by Message Framing: The Moderating Role of Age”.

The Risk Quotient 2024 Conference was hosted by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation Institute for the Public Understanding of Risk (IPUR) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in collaboration with the Melbourne Centre for Behaviour Change (MCBC). The conference focused on the theme of “Intersecting risks: Perils, Perceptions and Possibilities”. Throughout the event, Prof. Chen and other speakers delved into discussions on themes surrounding the intersection of risks, specifically in the areas of disaster management and resilience, climate change adaptation, health risk perception, and the influence of emotions, mindsets and behaviours on decision making.

Beyond the insightful presentations and panel discussions, the conference also provides an excellent platform for participants to establish connections, explore potential collaborations for future work, spark meaningful conversations, and foster academic development.
